CSO participated the Journey through the Universe program in March 2012.  This year, a staff research scientist Hiroko Shinnaga participated the program.  In her presentation, she talked about a journey from Earth to the various astronomical objects in our solar system, in the Milky Way Galaxy, and to astronomical objects further beyond in the classroom of wonderful teacher, Corinne Kalani at Waiakeawaena Elementary School in Hilo, HI.  We've reached 27 students throughout the week of March 1st -- 9th.  Jean Kawachika, ex-8th grade teacher, helped Hiroko for her classroom visit as an ambassador.
