A
Nursery for Young Massive Stars -- Public Lecture at 'Imiloa
The 'Imiloa Astronomy Center has
a planetarium and hosts various educational/public programs for people
in Hilo and tourlists. In February, a staff research scientist,
Hiroko Shinnaga, gave a public lecture at 'Imiloa's Mauna Kea Skies
monthly program. Roughly sixty audiences gathered for the lecture
and all of them received CSO's bookmark of the Whirlpool Galaxy,
23 million light years (7 Mega parsec) away from us. Mr. Peter
Michaud at Gemini was the host of the program.
