Three
Public Lectures in June 2009
We had three public
lectures this month. Brian Force, Scientific Research Engineer of
the CSO gave a presentation at the Universe
Tonight series at the
Mauna Kea
Visitor
Information Station (VIS) on the 6th of June 2009. The
abstract and the pictures taken during
the presentation can be found on the VIS web page.
Dr. Tom Phillips, the director of the Caltech Submillimeter
Observatory, gave two public lectures, one at the Keck Observatory in
Waimea on the 18th, and the other at
'Imiloa in Hilo on the 20th
of June 2009. You
can listen to the lecture at the
Keck Observatory at their podcast web
page with the presentation slides. These two lectures by Dr.
Phillips were given as part of
Mauna Kea
Directors' Lecture Series, to celebrate the International Year of Astronomy
2009.
