New
345GHz wideband receiver achieved first light.
The new 345GHz wideband
receiver, called Barney (because of its purple color), came online at
the CSO telescope. This
receiver covers the frequency band from 280 to 420GHz. Important
features of
the receiver include remote tuning capability, good stability, and the
avoidance of
ground
loops.
