In the SHARC2 image of ARP 84, the pupil in the eye is barely visible.  On the other hand the companion galaxy shines brightly, suggesting a younger age compared to the main galaxy.  What appears to be missing in the optical and near-IR at the top end of the eye-shaped galaxy is possibly the dominant feature in the SHARC2 image, signaling the most active sites of starburst in the system.
